Viewing your results and awards

Your public profile

All your activity on Picstar is recorded on your public profile, visible to any user of the platform. To access it, go to the menu and click My account.

On your profile you will find:

  • Average score — average of all the scores the jury has given your photographs
  • Number of contests you have participated in
  • Contests and leagues you have participated in, with their results
  • Awards obtained — every award won in contests and leagues

The Awarded contests and Associations cards have an arrow in the corner: click them to open the list behind the number. The awards list shows each contest or league with the awards you won in it, and you can search or filter by year and association; the associations list shows the associations you are a member of. From each row you can go to the contest or the association.

An award only appears once the association has published the contest results. If you hide your stats in Preferences → Privacy, nobody else can open these lists.

Results by contest

A contest's results become public when the association closes it and notifies the participants, not before. While that notice is missing, the contest page shows neither the photographs nor the winners, even if the jury has already voted.

Once the verdict is public, from the page of any contest you have entered you can see:

  • Your submitted photograph and the average score obtained from the jury
  • The contest's final classification
  • The winners and awards given
  • Every submitted photograph

The Contest results section splits that information into four tabs, right below the title:

  • Winning photos — each one shown with its award and its author. This is the tab that opens first. Awards follow the order in which the association created them, the same order as the contest's Awards tab, and are browsed three at a time when there are more. Honorable mentions always come after the awards.
  • Wall — a grid of every submitted photograph, sorted from highest to lowest score
  • Participant list — a table with author, category, score and award
  • Statistics — works received and selected per category, and authors by country

To the right of the tabs, on the same line, the category dropdown narrows all four to a single category. With Wall open you also get the Display options icon, which overlays each photograph with its score, the author's name, their honours (in brackets after the name), the title, the awards or the cut. Honours always go with the name: turning them on also turns on the author's name.

Results by league

A league's results don't wait for it to end: each theme becomes public as soon as the Salon Chairman closes it. From the page of any league you have entered you can see, for the themes already closed:

  • The photographs you submitted for each theme and the score obtained
  • Your position in the general classification, in the classification of each thematic league or round, and in that of each theme
  • The score breakdown of each photograph, with what each jury member gave, without names

The League results section works like a contest's, with one extra tab, Classification, and a dropdown to choose between the general classification, each thematic league or round, and each theme. The winners and their awards appear when the league ends, once the association notifies the participants. You'll find the details in Entering photography leagues.

Awards

If you have won an award in a contest or league, it will be visible on your public profile. Awards are assigned manually by the association's Salon Chairman once voting has finished.
