Joining an association
Finding an association
From the Picstar home page you can explore the associations registered on the platform. Each association has a public page where you can see:
- Name, logo and cover photo
- Description and history of the association
- Number of current members
- Active contests and leagues
- Address and contact email
Becoming a member
To take part in social contests (reserved for members) you need to be a member of the organising association.
Some associations also restrict the visibility of a social contest or league: until you are a member, it does not even appear on their public page. If someone told you about a contest you cannot find, that may be why.
Each association decides how people join, so what you see on its public page depends on its settings:
If the association accepts requests
You will see a "Request to join" button on its public page. When you click it:
- Your request is sent to the association's administrators
- The button changes to "Request pending" while they review it
- When an administrator accepts it, you will receive an email
If they reject it you will not be notified, but the button will appear again: you can request to join whenever you like.
If the association only adds members manually
You will not see any button. To become a member you must:
- Go to the association's public page
- Look up the contact email shown on the page
- Write to the association saying you would like to become a member
- The administrator will add you from the member management panel
Either way, once added you will have member access and will be able to take part in all of the association's social contests and leagues.
If the association charges a membership fee
Some associations have an annual membership fee. In that case, once you are added as a member you will receive a charge via Stripe for the fee amount. Payments renew automatically every year.
