Creating an association

What is an association on Picstar?

An association is the space from which photography contests and leagues are organized. It has its own public page where photographers can discover it, see its activity, and get in touch to become members.

Step 1 — Access the creation flow

From your profile, go to Settings. Among the options you will find Create association. This process is only done once.

Step 2 — Fill in the association's details

Complete the form with the following information:

  • Association name — full name (e.g. Agrupació Fotogràfica d'OA)
  • Nickname — short, unique identifier (e.g. agfoga)
  • Contact email — the association's public email
  • Description — history, years of activity, relevant information
  • Country — Spain or another country
  • Address — required, since it will appear on the public page so interested people can find you
  • Logo — image that represents the association
  • Cover photo — header image for the public page (it can be the venue's facade or another representative image)

Step 3 — Plan and terms

Currently only the free plan exists. Accept the terms and conditions (they include the terms of use and data protection aspects) and click Create association.

The association's public page

Once created, anyone can visit your association's public page, where they will see:

  • Logo and cover photo
  • Association description
  • Number of members
  • Contests and leagues currently active
  • Address and contact email

Managing the association

From My associations you will find the list of associations you administer. From there you have two actions:

  • Manage — edit details and configure the association
  • View public profile — preview how others see it

Inside the admin panel you will find a summary with:

  • Active members
  • Active contests
  • Latest members who joined this month
  • Disk space used
  • List of recent contests and members

Managing administrators

An association can have several administrators. To add one:

  1. Go to the admin panel → Administrators
  2. Click Add administrator
  3. Search for the user by email or name
  4. Click Add — that person will then have administration permissions

From the same list you can remove administrators or view their profile to make sure you haven't picked the wrong person.
