Voting for a league in in-person mode

In in-person voting for a league, the whole jury gathers in a room and the Salon Chairman is the only one who manages the voting from their device. Themes are voted on and closed independently, normally one per month.

Accessing voting

The Salon Chairman goes to Votes, selects the league, and chooses the theme to vote on.

Voting on a theme

Select the theme and click Vote
For each photograph, enter the jury's scores. The cursor is already in the first juror's field when you reach each photograph, and returns to it when entering or leaving full screen and when closing the magnifier, so you can score without touching the mouse
Once all photos are scored, click Vote

Reviewing the gallery

After voting, you can go to the Gallery to see how the photographs were classified. They are sorted by the jury's total score and can be viewed in different modes, and you can also filter by City, Members (association members only), or Score range. Each photograph can show these indicators next to its score:

The Jury member filter shows the ranking exactly as that jury member sees it: it is recalculated using only their scores. Only the Salon Chairman and the association administrators see this filter. The city filter accepts several towns at once.

🔀 Photo order. The gallery shows them in random order, not the order they were submitted in, so works by the same author don't appear one after another.

🔍 Taking a closer look. In the top right corner of the gallery, the magnifier icon opens the photograph in a separate viewer where it can be enlarged —with the + and − buttons, the mouse wheel or a pinch on a touch screen— to check the fine detail: grain, edges or retouching. To go straight to a detail, click Zoom into an area —the box icon, next to the zoom ones— and drag a box over the part of the photo you want to see: it is enlarged to fill the screen. The Esc key leaves that mode without closing the viewer. Next to it, the full screen icon makes the gallery fill the browser window. Closing the viewer with the or the Esc key returns to the same photograph, with the scores exactly as they were.

Reviewing and disqualifying photographs

Until the participants are notified of a theme's results with Notify users, the salon chairman and the association administrators can review that theme's photographs and disqualify any that do not comply with the rules, even once the theme is finalized. Select a theme and click Review photos: a gallery opens with the photographs in that theme, and you move between them with the arrows.

Disqualify requires a mandatory reason, which is shown to the jury below the photograph so they know why it is no longer being scored.
A disqualified photograph is dimmed and marked as Disqualified photograph; hovering over it reveals the original image, so the decision can be reviewed.
Restore undoes the disqualification and brings back the scores the jury had already given it: there is no need to vote on it again.
Disqualified photographs do not count as pending votes, so voting can be closed as usual.
Once the theme has been notified —or the results of the whole league—, Review photos still opens its gallery, but only for viewing: Disqualify and Restore disappear, because the participants have already received their result. Each theme is handled on its own: themes that have not been notified yet can still be reviewed.

ℹ️ The jury cannot disqualify: they score, but they do not decide which photographs compete. Review is always done on the selected theme, because the same photograph may be valid in one theme and not in another.

Refine votes (optional)

While a theme is still open (its submission deadline has passed but the theme hasn't been finalized yet), if you notice while reviewing the Jury table that a photo didn't end up in the correct position, you can adjust the scores:

Click Refine votes on the corresponding photograph
Change the scores you need to
Click Vote to confirm the changes
Go back to the Jury table to check the new classification

In the top bar of the Jury table, the three dots — white, grey and black — change the colour of the photo cards: the edges of a dark photograph stand out better on a light card. The text and buttons on the card adjust to the colour you choose, and your choice stays when you switch theme.

Apply a cut per theme (optional)

Each theme has its own cut, independent of the rest, calculated on the sum of the scores from jurors who have already voted on each photo (not the average). Before finalizing the theme:

Open the Jury table and click Define cut
The system shows the Score distribution — how many photos fall at each value and the cumulative percentage
Enter a target acceptance percentage to see the suggested cut and apply it with Use suggestion, or type the minimum score directly
Confirm the cut

Finalize a theme

When the theme's classification is correct, click End theme and confirm. The theme is closed and its votes and cut can no longer be modified — only the results can be viewed.

Repeat the voting, review, cut, and closing process for each theme in the league as its end date arrives.

Handling ties

If, when reviewing the overall classification, there is a tie between participants, the Salon Chairman must manually decide who each award is given to before assigning the awards.

Assign awards

As soon as all themes are finalized, the Assign awards button becomes available (there's no need to close the league first). League awards are assigned based on each participant's overall classification, not on each individual theme or a specific photo:

Awards can be freely reassigned until the winners are notified.

Close the league

Once all themes are finalized, click Close league and confirm. From this point on:

The league moves to Finished status and all real information (participant names and photo titles) is revealed
Assigned awards can still be corrected until the winners are notified
Neither the votes nor the cut for any theme can be modified

Closing the league is up to the salon chairman. The next three steps —generating the minutes, uploading the signed minutes and notifying the users— are available both to the salon chairman and to the association administrators.

Generate the minutes

Once the league is closed, the Generate minutes button becomes available. It produces an editable draft with the league's results, which can be exported to PDF, listing the awards per participant (not grouped by theme, since league awards apply to a participant's whole run rather than a specific photo). The minutes are written in the association's configured language, regardless of the language of whoever generates them.

Before the draft is generated you are asked for a few details that cannot be inferred from the league:

How the minutes should refer to the event — Contest, Salon, League, Rally or Circuit
Sponsors from which a point is requested — only the league's approved sponsors can award points; if the league has none, the section is empty
Signing town, date and time — the signing statement of the minutes

After the awards, the minutes close with an Other selected works section: the admitted images — those above their theme's cut-off — grouped by theme and listing the author and the title of each one. Next to the name of every jury member, of the Salon Chairman and of every participant named in the minutes, their credentials are written in brackets: first their honours, as they entered them in their profile, and then their federation numbers, taken from the Memberships tab of their account, whether or not that body sponsors the league. A participant with neither honours nor numbers appears with their name alone; for jury members and the Salon Chairman the text “(titles)” is left in their place, to be completed by hand.

You can regenerate the minutes at any time; doing so asks for these details again and discards any manual editing you had on screen.

Upload the signed minutes

Once the jury signs the generated minutes (on paper or as a PDF), the Upload signed minutes button lets you upload that signed version as the official document, in PDF format. It becomes available at the same time as Generate minutes. Awards can still be corrected after uploading the signed minutes, right up until the winners are notified; if a signed version has already been uploaded, the button becomes Replace signed minutes and lets you swap it for a new one.

Notify users

Once the league is closed and at least one award has been assigned, the Notify users button appears. It sends an email to participants and winners. It can only be clicked once — the notification cannot be resent.

Public result of the league

Closing the league is not enough for the results to appear: until you press Notify users, the public page shows neither the photographs, nor the winners, nor the minutes. This is deliberate — the verdict becomes public when the association decides, not when the status changes in the application.

From the league's public page, any user can view:

Summary — registered participants and submitted photographs
Winners — with the awards given
Submitted photographs — in three views (Mural, List and Statistics), filterable by theme and, when the theme has a cut-off defined, by whether they pass it
Each participant's profile — photos submitted, scores obtained for each photo, and a summary of their participation in the league
